The Land of Old Men

Why are all old people grumpy? They won’t let u have the last say (Exactly).  And most importantly they know everything (Freaking everything Bro). For example my father’s favorite pastime is to belittle me. “You can’t do that, you can’t do this”. “When I was your age I used to do walk 20 miles to work, I used to do 3-4 jobs,I used to work 36 hours a day (how the hell is that possible), I was good at everything I do, I was the president of United States of America (Ya this one is totally made up no???), blah, blah, blah,…”.
A man does not die of love or his liver or even old age, he dies of being a man. Miguel De Unamuno

The point is as we grow older we tend to hold onto our ego like a drowning man holding onto a twig (Metaphorically). Now here I think are we all programmed to behave that way? Are we not smart enough to realize that our younger generations are growing up to be more intelligent than us? It’s the basic law of evolution (Lawyered). Even that song what a wonderful world has a line in it. I hear babies crying and I watch them grow They will learn much more than we will ever know At this point I am reminded of the immortal words by Al Pacino: “ When you get old in life things get taken away from you. But when you start to lose stuff, you realize that life has gained inches.” (Respect Bro)

Cherish all yours happy moments they make a fine cushion for old age. Booth Tarkington

On the alternative there is a better way of looking at things. LET GO. Literally LET GO OFF STUFFS. You don’t need to be the best in everything you do. You don’t need to know everything. You just need to be YOU. Not some ego centric bitchy old guy (Ouch!).

You just need to be a child again. The secret of genius is to carry the spirit of child into old age which means never losing your enthusiasm. Aldous Huxley

Because if you try to hold on to stuffs, you won’t and something else will take its place. It’s called Ego. I once asked a kid what you want to be when you grow up. He looked at me through his wide eyes and said Grow up who wants to grow up?...
Hedonistically yours
